There was no surprise in the offing at the award ceremony of England Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). As expected, Cristiano Ronaldo rules the roost by winning the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year award.
It is worth mentioning that Ronaldo has had a dream year for Manchester United this season. Not only he has created a plenty of goal chances but despite being a midfielder has scored lots of goals as well.
Interestingly, the 22-year-old Portuguese mid fielder is the first player in the history of the game to win both the awards in the same season since Andy Gray in 1977.
Other than Ronaldo, eight Manchester United players made it into the team of the year while manager Sir Alex Ferguson who has played a pivotal role in the success of Manchester United was honored with the PFA Special Merit Award.
